After 8 years as pastors in Mansfield, OH the Church of God in Tanzania, Africa asked us to oversee and provide accountability for the Safina Child Sponsorship program. After transferring leadership of that program into the hands of Tanzanians, we've followed God's call back to the U.S. Check out the postings below to stay updated on our process, life, and ministry.

A New Phase
This has been a weird sort of week for our family. Today we hand over the keys to our house. I guess more literally it isn't "our" house anymore, but the moment where that reality actually sinks in hasn't arrived yet. When I think back at the memories made in that building, I remember most vividly the moments spent with our kids. We brought both Elliana and Ian to that house when they came into this world, and every-night we laid them to sleep inside those walls. That home was filled with laughter and full of love.
But to me at least, there is nothing sad about today. The house was just a location. The memories and the moments our family has shared with each other and with friends didn't happen because of the structure. Everything important to me is coming along when we leave. I still have my best friend and my beautiful kids. I don't mean to be cavalier, because certainly the house was a blessing from God. But He continues his grace through our move. Even now, as we move into a temporary place until we can leave for the field, God has provided a great living situation for us. We are very thankful.
The other major event of this week, and the genuinely sad one for me, is that we had to find another home for our dog Lilly. She had been with us for almost 6 years since we moved to Mansfield, and a very integral member of our family. But with the transition happening in our lives and the path our family is walking, it became clear that we needed to find a place for her where she could be given more attention and less chaos. At this point, she has moved in with my great aunt Linda. We were thankful she could find a home with someone we knew, and a place we knew she would be loved and well cared for.
Right now we are living in an apartment with boxes and bins seemingly stacked all over the place. But as a family, we have never been closer. And we are so excited to continue the work God is calling us too. Thanks again for all of your love and support.
Much Love in Return.
