Our family is excited to announce that we have accepted a position to work as the National Director's of the Safina Child Sponsorship program in Tanzania. The Safina program is part of the Church of God's International Child Sponsorship program, Children of Promise.
Children of Promise seeks to directly impact the lives of children who are being denied a promising future because of poverty, lack of education, or disease. Children of Promise is committed to providing assistance in these areas and to introducing each child to Christ.
In Tanzania specifically, many children and their families live in very primitive conditions. Through the Safina program, Children of Promise sponsors more than 800 children in Tanzania, providing them with food, clothing, and a chance to go to school.
We are trying to get to Tanzania by May, 2012. In order for that to happen, we have to raise 100% percent of our budget for the first year, as well as the money necessary to move to Tanzania and get started (that includes visa's, plane tickets, automobile on arrival, etc...). This position is a self-funded one, so alot of next year will be spent fundraising for us.

After 8 years as pastors in Mansfield, OH the Church of God in Tanzania, Africa asked us to oversee and provide accountability for the Safina Child Sponsorship program.
