Kiswahili Language School

Well we have almost made it through week 2 of language school. We are learning a little more each day and are grateful for this foundation in Swahili. We spend most of the day in the classroom and offset the lectures with trips to the market and local shops. We are also afforded opportunities to communicate and practice with native Tanzanians who speak very little English. The kid's have adjusted well despite being the only 2 kids in class, and are learning as well. Elliana very much enjoys going to school and Ian is coming around to the idea. Their teachers have been absolutely wonderful and have cared for them as if they were their own children. The days are long and full of activity, but we are trying to take in as much as possible. After next week we will return to Babati and begin the process of moving in to our new home. Unfortunately during that time we will have to say goodbye to our now good friends the Shulars, who after 7+ years of service in Africa are returning to the states. We are grateful for the overlap we have had with them even now, as they have helped teach and show us so many new things as they relate to life here in Africa. The rest of the Safina team is on the road right now traveling to some of the villages for disbursement. Please remember them in prayer as they meet with the kids, get their pictures and letters, and administrate the program. We are anxious to be with them but understand and relish this opportunity to learn the language and culture, and be better prepared for ministry over the coming years. Much Love, The Comptons

  1. So glad all is going well and that God is revealing Himself in so many exciting ways. We will continue to pray for each of you in your new roles and endeavors as well as the beautiful people and ministry that is unfolding. Will look forward to hearing more as time allows. Blessings and Joy!
